Hi Guys!
A lot of people are disappointed (yet
again) with the BBC and their choice of song for Eurovision. However, after
watching the music video and listening to our entrant for the first time last
Saturday, I have to say I was pleasantly surprised!
It is a mix of 1920s swing and
electrified beats, creating a relatively new genre called Electro swing. The
song itself is sung by a voice reject and a tribute band singer; this should
mean that they are going to be awful. But, with their previous experiences of
singing, they have helped create an upbeat funky, fun track for all Eurovision
lovers to enjoy.
The BBC has seemed to have caused
quite an up-stir in the Eurovision world. With over 300,000 views in 1 day
compared to Ireland which has racked up a mere 50,000 views in 10 days. This
has clearly shown the viewer’s how different we can be as a country.
To me this song is a bit like
marmite- You either love it or you hate it. I love it, others don’t, and it
cannot be helped.
The song has had a brilliant
reception from overseas countries such as Poland, but not as many from its own
fans in the UK.
In my opinion, this is the best act
that the UK has entered in the last 10 years and the best chance that we have
at winning since Katrina and The waves in 1997
Does anyone agree with me?
Jake
